Syracuse University Dining Worth Your Meal Plan

Syracuse University is home to some of the, in my opinion, best dining hall food out there! We have five dining halls across campus and the Schine Student Center, all with their own mouth-watering, dynamic and diverse food options. In this article, I will be ranking the dining halls from best to worse based on your responses to the College Corner Instagram poll and my own opinion!

Schine Student Center
The Schine Student center located on the Einhorn Family Walk is the new crown jewel of Syracuse University dining. It boasts fantastic options such as Dunkin' Donuts, CoreLife Eatery, a bakery, Panda Express, a pizza place and the Halal Shack. This was by far the most voted-for dining option on our Instagram poll. Whether you want a morning donut and coffee for breakfast or beet lemonade and a falafel pita for dinner, Schine is your best friend!

Ernie Davis
Coming up second on my list is Ernie Davis. Located on Comstock Avenue, Ernie is by far the fan-favorite dining hall! It has a bright and airy feeling as well as being conveniently located next to Dellplain Watson! Ernie is equipped with a sandwich station (pro tip: ask for a quesadilla), pizza station, salad bar, hot food, gluten-free food, bagels, and more! This dining hall is the place to be!

Graham
Graham dining hall is one of the best places to socialize as a freshman! If you ask any upperclassman who lived on the mount if they ate at Graham, they will recount to you the hours they spent talking with friends over the brownies and watery pasta. Graham is third on my list because no one eats there except for first-year students and it is a fantastic spot to socialize. It is the most inconvenient dining hall located between Flint and Day unless you reside in one of those two residence halls. The food, while edible, does not compare to Ernie Davis. In conclusion, if you still eat here, I feel sorry for you, but I am sure you're making memories.

Shaw
Shaw is the lesser-known sibling of Graham dining hall but has better food! Located in Shaw Hall, it is only visited by those willing to make the trip to Euclid Avenue. It has a lot of sunlight, amazing food options and never runs out of desert! Shaw is fourth on my list because not many people eat here, and it is not as accessible as Ernie or Schine!

Brockway
Brockway is fifth on my list because of its location. Unless you live in BBB, there is no reason for you to make the trip to Brockway dining hall. The food is subpar, comparable to Graham, and the location is only convenient for BBB residents. I have visited this location once in my two years at Syracuse University and all of those who voted in the College Corner Instagram poll agree that Brockway deserves the fifth spot on this list!

Sadler
In order to keep remain completely honest with all of my readers, I have to admit that I have never been to Sadler! Located near Lawrinson and in Sadler, this dining hall is out of the way for most students on the north campus! I have heard good things about the food, but according to the Instagram poll, it is nothing special! I am going to trust my readers and give Sadler the sixth spot on this list!

I hope that this post gave you some insight on where the best places to spend your meal swipes are! Syracuse University is one of the best campuses for dining hall food and I believe that no matter where the dining center was ranked, they all have food worth trying! In my upcoming article, I will rank the best off-campus spots in Central New York! Check our Instagram to help participate in the poll! Schine Student Center partnered with me for this post and is giving any student a free drink with their CoreLife Eatery meal if you use the code "CC" at the register!

Pre-coronavirus there would be swarms of students heading to Water Street Bagel Co., Oh My Darling and Rise N Shine Diner for a morning pick-me-up. While there is no more indoor seating, Water Street Bagel Co. is a coveted breakfast spot for Syracuse University students! A maximum of four people are allowed in-shop at a time, and you have to order online before coming to pick it up! Water Street Bagel Co. is most definitely a...

Communications is Everywhere: Elizabeth Coburn

On May 5th, I attended a virtual discussion provided by Syracuse University's Fashion Milestone. Elizabeth Coburn, the speaker, is a junior designer at the coveted fashion magazine Teen Vogue. Coburn also graduated from Syracuse University in 2019 with a major in communications design. During college, she was an active member of   University Union and served as the design director and the art director. Before working at Teen Vogue, Elizabeth interned at Refinery29 as a Design Intern. She credits her time here for solidifying her belief that design is what she wanted to do as her profession! Elizabeth has a vital role at Teen Vogue. She works in a small art team that consists of her and two other design staff. She works on graphics to promote events, commissions illustrators for the magazine and Instagram posts. Elizabeth also helps produce photoshoots for the magazine. Speaker Spotlight: Josh Trujillo

In my PRL 215 class, I had the fantastic opportunity to listen to guest speaker Josh Trujillo speak about his career as a senior visual storyteller for none other than Starbucks! Starbucks is a crucial element in my day-to-day life, as I'm sure it is in yours! My first Starbucks drink was a double chocolate chip"venti" frappuccino when I was in middle school; from then on, Starbucks has been my best friend. I am going to extend to you all the key points I gathered from Mr.Trujillo's presentation!    Josh Trujillo is a photographer by trade. He has photographed war, the Pope and has traveled with presidents. After a successful career as a photographer, Josh took his passion and turned it into a beautiful career, sharing some of the stories of Starbucks customers and workers. In an article he wrote for Starbucks titled "Starbucks 2019: The Year in Pictures," he stated that his work with Starbucks Stories centers around the idea of documenting some of the ...
